Game over.

ByJakob Andersson on July 12, 2007

Since I had to make a move right away I was hoping for good cards to improve my odds. I started out UTG which wasn’t precisly the best possible starting point and my first hand was 43 off. Fold. Next hand (big blind) I got K6 off with one raiser and one all in. I wanted to be all in with just one guy so I folded. Next hand (I am on small blind). Everyone fold to me. I got the fantastic hand 94 off. Although, I thought I had a good chance since a probably shouldn’t be blocked if he called. He called and shows A6 giving me a 60/40 shot. No one hits and the Ace hold up making me about nr 800 (of a little more than 6300 entrants) in the result list (top 13%) and 180 from the money.

Now I need a drink. I’ll be back later. Peace.

“It aint over ’til the fat lady…”

Hokay…time to panic. It has been a pretty rough day, specially after the dinner break. Only the last period (75 minutes) I was all in 6 times. Didn’t really got paid off and didn’t get calls very often. And the antes and blinds are starting to getting cruel. Ended on 21.200 so I must double up a couple of times pretty quick. I’m not sure yet of all statistics (everything is changed consistantly) but we are about 800 left. I have heard two numbers regarding the money which is 621 and 549. I’m not sure whish is right (if any)… It’s gonna be a tough thing to get to money anyhow but “a chip and a chair” and all of that… Two early all ins tomorrow and we will see what happends. Now I need my beaty sleep. Take care all!

Dinner break Day 2B

ByJakob Andersson on July 12, 2007

The reason you havn’t heard from me is because I’m still in this madness. Playing it like a roller coaster I got down to 13.000 when I finally hit something and got really paid off with my A 10 (hitting the the top pair; 10 on the flop). Two hands after that i got AA on the big blind and managed to double up. I raised and got three callers, flop came K 10 6 of hearts, I raised 9.000 and got a call. Turn didn’t mean anything and I doubled up to 68.000. Ater that I had a slow period until I got KK on the big blind again. Re raised the small blind (and two limpers) from 4.500 to 20.000. I was put all in. I called and he shows….KK as well - split. After that the antes started eating me and I then got my QQs cracked which now have got me down to 39.000. Avergage is about 100.000 and there is about 1.000 players left. Blinds will be 1800/900. That is: no panic but I’m back where I started this morning. So conclusion…ACTION!

Hope NOT to write again soon. Remaining players will play until midnight.

Here we go…

ByJakob Andersson on July 11, 2007

45 minutes to go. Yesterday the played about 9 hours to get down to the 350 peaple that will continue tomorrow on Day 3.

Keep your fingers where they belong. It worked out last time ;)

Figures…

ByJakob Andersson on July 10, 2007

1D has ended and there still is a lot of swedes left among the 662 who made it (even though we lost William Thorson and Martin De Knijff among others yesterday) which is all good! In total there were 6.358 entrants and payouts will run to place 621 (not yet confirmed since I heard top 500 on another site) and the total price pool is almost $60.000.000. Hubba, hubba… Not completey sure about how many that is left but it should be something around 2.000.

Results for Day 1c here.

Other interesting facts and scandals is that Phil Helmuth crashed his Nascar when showing off at Rio’s parking just before the game. Nice PR gig :D

Day 1 complete

ByJakob Andersson on July 09, 2007

Sorry for the late update this time. 16 hour of straight play tok it’s toll… The last hours was pretty tough. I was forced to lay down two hands and got reraised, preflop a couple of times from a much bigger stack. I went down to 20.000 but came back up to about 25.000 and my first day ended.

The average stack is about 50.000 and the blinds will be 1.000/500 I believe so I only have to double up once to get back in the game. About 70% of the field will be gone when day 2 starts on wednesday!

Now I will have my beauty sleep!

Dinner break

ByJakob Andersson on July 09, 2007

A quick update after 6 hours of play before the 90 min dinner break:

Todays event have 1743 players (Day 1a and 1b had about 1.200 respective 1.500)

Eliminated so far is among others; Mike Matusow, Men Nguyen, Andy Bloch, Shannon Elizabeth, Phil Ivey and Greg Raymer.

Finally back in Vegas

Finally back in Vegas

So! Back in Vegas after a couple of days on the road. Unfortunately, Frisco

was pretty cold and the bigger part of the Highway 1 trip was pretty foggy

was cool.

So we have about 10 hours until the Main Event starts for me. It seems like

the structure is pretty aggressive. Only 445 players left of 3.000 after the

first day. I guess you can’t be to lazy if your gonna survive to the second

one. We¹ll see what happends. I’m here to do good deeds and as someone said

before in a comment; “In order to survive you gotta be willing to die”. Keep

your fingers in action!
