Warming up

Things didn’t start out very well when the Arlanda flight was stranded due to

a “problem with the lights”. We finally got away 2 hours later and the rest

of the trip including connections was pretty smooth (except for the obvious

minimalistic leg space and the screaming 2 yr olds that always have to be

seated in the row behind). Anyways. Got to the Flamingo about 10PM in the

104 F (almost 40 Celcius) heat (don’t wanna know what it’s gonna be like

during daytime). Sandra and I hit the strip for an hour and then got away to

the registration booth at the Rio. The registration madness continued a bit

but I finally got everything on track. I got my first play date at the Main

Event to the 8th as planed and I also got a seat to event 49 as warm up.

That event starts within 2 hours btw som I better start speeding up things.

You will find a link to the tourny update to the left.

Las Vegas, here I come…

ByJakob Andersson on June 28, 2007

So, finally… a.k.a. GHOSTMAN’s blog is officially opened. And first of all thanks to Andreas, Daniel and Peter who helped me out with this blog!

The blog have two main purposes. The first is obviously is to give continuous (hopefully daily) reports to my WSOP stakers and friends on my gambling progress in the World Series of Poker 2007 together with some traveling experiences. The second purpose will remain in darkness until further notice.

The Main Event starts the 6th of July. I will probably also play in a smaller event, I’ll get back to you on that. Links will also be provided later for the updated chip counts.

As you might know this is my first WSOP entrance (with hopefully many more to come), which gave me the opportunity to experience a registration process that is as simple and clear as the US voting system. You first have to pre-register on the site to get an auto-generated form with your personal information. After that you do a wire transfer for the buy-in and wait 3 days to get the receipt from the bank. You take the form you got before, sign it and send it by fax together with the receipt the bank sent you. After that you should get a ‘confirmation email’ (not yet received), print it out and present at the registration booth at the Casino and THEN you are officially registered (At least that is what the site says but the site also said “ERROR TRY AGAIN LATER” for 24 hours when I tried to pre-register the first times).

Enough of sarcasm for now. I although still (in a pretty sick way) love this spectacle. Plane leave tomorrow about 10 AM. Promise to get back soon.
